SRC Biologicals @ the Innovation Hub

SRC Biologicals is the official distributer of crop enhancing agricultural products developed by Andermatt Swirzerland and supplied by Andermatt Madumbi in South Africa. Pioneer trial work on sugarcane in Malawi has resulted in significant yield improvement with carefully tailored soil health treatments.

SRC Biologicals was established through parent company Agricane’s efforts to enhance the productivity and sustainability of its farming operations in Malawi’s Lower Shire Valley. Faced with declining soil health, increased pest pressures, and rising production costs, Agricane investigated biological approaches to boost crop performance while reducing dependence on synthetic inputs. Today, SRC Biologicals combines practical farming experience, biological technologies, and technical support to help growers develop more resilient and profitable production systems.

SRC Biologicals promotes an integrated approach that combines biological and conventional agricultural practices to enhance soil function, nutrient efficiency, crop health, and pest management. Through carefully designed soil and plant health programs, beneficial microbes, fungi, bacteria, biostimulants, and biological crop protection products work alongside conventional inputs to strengthen crops from the soil up through the plant. Supported by Agricane’s team of commercial farmers, agronomists, agricultural engineers, and land-use specialists, SRC Biologicals offers practical solutions tailored to African farming conditions.
