Xinavane Sugar Mill, 140 km north of Maputo, had a capacity of 150 tonnes of cane per hour (tcph), producing approximately 76,000 tonnes of raw sugar annually. The project expanded capacity to 380 tcph (1.45 million tonnes of cane), targeting around 200,000 tonnes of sugar per year and requiring an additional 8,500 ha under cane production.
