Building on the success of previous groundnut and soybean tours, this three-day event showcases new legume varieties while connecting stakeholders across Malawi’s legume value chain. 

The tour highlights the partnership between Palladium’s Growth Poles Project that co-ordinates the initiative, the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Soybean Innovation Lab (SIL), which is researches the development of improved legume varieties, and Agricane’s Sangowa Research and Innovation Hub where the vareities are tested in real-world conditions.

Delegates will visit trial sites, commercial operations and research facilities to experience the latest innovations and explore opportunities for collaboration. By bringing together researchers, farmers, agribusinesses, traders and investors, the event strengthens value chains, encourages private-sector investment, and supports Malawi’s emergence as a globally competitive legume producer.
