Sierra Leone Water Supply Programs

The Sierra Leone Water Supply Program showcases Agricane’s expertise in bulk water infrastructure, delivering the engineering, planning, and water management systems needed to improve access to reliable water supplies for growing communities and economic development.

Access to reliable water remains one of the most significant infrastructure challenges across Sierra Leone, where rapid population growth, aging infrastructure, and seasonal water shortages place increasing pressure on existing supply systems. Agricane’s expertise in hydrology, bulk water conveyance, pumping systems, storage infrastructure, and network design provides the technical foundation for developing sustainable water supply solutions that support both communities and economic growth.

Sierra Leone’s national water sector directed Agricane to focus on expanding access through new water sources, treatment facilities, transmission systems, pumping stations, and distribution networks serving both urban and rural populations.

The program drew upon Agricane’s extensive African experience in bulk water engineering, including large-scale pumping stations, water conveyance canals, steel pipelines, drainage systems, and integrated water management infrastructure. By combining practical engineering expertise with long-term operational planning, the project strengthened water security, improved climate resilience, and supported future social and economic development. Similar approaches have been successfully applied by Agricane across major irrigation and water infrastructure developments throughout Africa.
